Norfolk, VA - The credit reporting files of Retail Alliance have been acquired by Equifax, a national credit reporting company. In turn, Equifax has expanded the Retail Alliance sales and marketing area. This expansion more than doubles the Retail Alliance sales territory.

The increased marketing area will include the Virginia Eastern Shore; Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson and Williamsburg on the Hampton Roads Peninsula; Petersburg, Hopewell and Colonial Heights, Emporia, Lawrenceville, Farmville, Burkesville and Blackstone, Virginia; Elizabeth City, Manteo, Edenton and Manteo, North Carolina; and the counties of Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Hertford, Perquimans, Gates and Pasquotank, North Carolina.

Retail Alliance will continue to serve its current customers in South Hampton Roads, Isle of Wight county and Franklin with Equifax credit reports and ancillary products such as WelcomeCheck check guarantee and verification service. Moreover, the company will add several Equifax credit reporting services to its product base totaling 40 Equifax products for its new regional market.

Retail Alliance will also continue to sell, market and service its proprietary products: Hire Vu, a pre-employment screening service; recovery services; mortgage credit reports; and a public records bulletin. In addition, the company is in the process of developing several new proprietary products and partnerships that will expand its business product offerings.

Moreover, Retail Alliance is continuing to strengthen its retail association programs offering businesses state- of –the-art employee training programs, local and state lobbying, meeting room space, a resource library, a retail loss prevention task force and economic/demographic research.

Due to the new agreement, consumers in South Hampton Roads will be required to call Equifax to request a copy of their credit report and any information regarding their credit file. The Equifax number is 800-685-5000. The address is Equifax Credit Information Services, P.O. Box 740241, Atlanta, GA 30374-0241. Credit reports will no longer be available at the Retail Alliance Poplar Hall Drive location.
